Tailoring Tautomerization of Single Phthalocyanine Molecules through Modification of Chromophore Photophysics by the Purcell Effect of an Optical Microcavity

Over the years, probing and controlling tautomerization has attracted significant attention because of its fundamental importance in various chemical biological phenomena. So far, light, force, electrons, electric field have been employed to alter characteristics porphyrin phthalocyanine derivatives. Here, we show that engineering photophysics molecules through interaction with vacuum electromagnetic an optical microcavity can be used control single molecules. Compared embedded a polymer matrix open space, average fluorescence lifetime inside resonant decreases significantly due Purcell effect. The decreased reduces possibility molecule entering into triplet state, i.e., photoactive channel. As result, photoinduced altered. Our results demonstrate weak coupling between excited state via cavity mode lead changes photoreactivity.
